Client A’s story:
Client A was seeking help for drug and alcohol abuse. He was in his early 30’s and had been drinking and using many types of drugs since early teenage years.
He worked hard, in the construction industry, was successful, married with two children. His drinking had a negative impact on his family due frequent absences and abuse.
During therapy, he revealed he used drugs and alcohol to cover up his feelings of anger, frustration, low self-esteem and his feelings of abandonment linked to childhood trauma.
He was able to learn new coping skills, reduce dependence on drugs and alcohol and see his kids more.
